5 Things to Try this Spring!
It is time to stock up on plants! You want to make sure that your space is also starting to feel more springy! Is that a word? I don’t know but it feels right. So where can you get some plants while supporting a small business? Check out Muddy Roots Collective in Murphysboro. They have the cutest little shop with the nicest owners! I highly recommend. They also have some pretty awesome planters! Check them out!

2. El Paisano is now in the Murdale Shopping Center in Carbondale! This place is so good! I recommend the churros that are covered in chocolate. They are warm, gooey, and oh so good! You can check out their website at the link below:

3. Now that we have talked about food, we also need to talk about exercise right? Because we all want that hot summer bod! If you are like me, you may not yet feel comfortable enough to go the gym! So what can you do instead? Get yourself a health coach! I personally love to follow along with Jennifer Brachear! She is a mom of not one, not two, but three kids. She is also a nurse, and she understands what it is like to have a busy schedule. I love to follow along through her Facebook stories, and it always gets in the mood to get my body moving!
You can find Jennifer Brachear on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/jennifer.may.77
4. I couldn’t finish this list without including Two Bugs and A Bean! They help foster parents throughout Southern Illinois! When I first got my foster child, they had very little clothes, no pajama’s, no underwear, and no toys. And there was a ton we needed to get, and Two Bugs and Bean really came through! So if you have to buy clothes for the little one, I recommend you shop with them! You can find their website down below!
5. Date Night/Family Night
The last one is something you can plan! And I am going to break it down into two separate suggestions. The first suggestion is for all my single friends that don’t have kids. You are going to have a date night, but the plot twist is that you and your significant other will be going on a first date with each other. Don’t tell the other person what you are wearing. Get ready in separate areas if you can. Take separate cars to the restaurant, and meet at the restaurant like its your first date. Kevin, and I tried this and had so much fun! We have been together almost 10 years, and it was so fun to spend a night not talking about work, bills, and life. Instead we talked about what we like to do for fun, and where we see ourselves in 5 years. Haha! We were also reminded that it has been a while since we have dated!
Date Night
Family Night
So for family night, you will need water guns from the dollar store, and water balloons. You will fill up as many water balloons as possible. The Kiddo, and I filled up all the balloons while Kevin was at work. Then a few minutes before Kevin got home, we went outside and hid. Just as Kevin went to enter the house, there was a note next to a bucket of water balloons, and a water gun that said he had to change as soon as possible because we were hiding and would be popping out to attack him (with water balloons.) Kevin was a sport, and quickly went inside to change. He then came outside looking for us. We had a great time splashing water balloons around. It was a great way to break into the weekend, and a memorable time for us as a family.
I hope you enjoyed these activities! I wish you a wonderful Spring Season!
Sincerely,
Esther Kabwe Photography
What is Going On With My Small Business?
These are the four things that I am working on at the moment.
Get Real
One of my goals this season is to share more with all of you. I feel so blessed in that people have continued to support me through this journey. I always want to give back to those who support me. And for me giving back means a lot of things. It can be shouting out people that I work with in my newsletter or showering some love on other peoples businesses. I am here for it. For me giving back also means being open to the people. It means letting you in on what I am up to and why I do things the way that I do. I plan on being more involved on my social media. I plan on giving helpful content through these seasonal newsletters. I hope its a way for us to touch base with one another.
Growth
As a photographer who typically shoots outdoors, the warm weather is where I thrive. It is the time where I am the busiest. Typically during this time, I am booking out at least one month. During the really hot summer months when people are traveling, business can slow down. And in the fall we pick back up. So I am very excited for this time. I have so many ideas, and new clients.
Nature
I typically shoot outdoors because there are so many beautiful places in Southern Illinois. The idea of spending $50-$100 for a fake waterfall when I literally have tons of real ones around me feels silly. I really want to focus on finding some unique and beautiful places in the area. I want to find more waterfalls, open fields, creeks, and so much more! I want places that will take your breathe away, and places that are one of a kind. So the plan is to get at out at least once a week to scout. I have also joined a few Facebook groups that I think will be helpful!
Blog Post Title Three
It all begins with an idea.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
