A note from me to you
Whether this is your first session or your tenth, whether you’re planning something big or just want to capture a small piece of everyday life, I would be honored to be part of it.
If you're looking for someone who will show up with care, intention, and heart, I’m here.
Let’s create something meaningful together.
A note from the heart
Photography is about more than images. It is about trust. And I do not take that lightly. If you have been looking for someone who will honor your story, celebrate your love, and meet you with kindness and care, I would be truly honored to work with you.
You belong here. Your story belongs here. And I would love to help tell it.
A note from me to you
If you’re planning your wedding in Southern Illinois and looking for someone who will care just as much about the people as the pretty details, someone who will laugh with your wedding party and cry with your family, someone who sees the beauty in both the perfectly planned and the beautifully unscripted, I would be honored to be part of your day.
Let’s capture something real together.

Let’s create something meaningful together.
Step One: Backing up your images
Right after our session, I head home and upload your images to multiple backup systems. This helps me keep them safe and secure while I start the editing process. Your memories are important, and I treat them that way from the very beginning.
Step Two: Culling (choosing the best of the best)
From there, I go through every single photo and hand-select the images that best tell your story. I’m looking for genuine smiles, quiet moments, soft interactions, and little in-between glances that sometimes say more than words. I remove duplicates, blinks, and anything that doesn’t feel like you.
Step Three: Editing with heart
Let me start by saying this. If you're feeling nervous, unsure, or even a little camera shy, you are not alone.
You wouldn’t believe how many messages I get before a session that say something like, “We’re not photogenic,” or “We’re a little awkward,” or “We’ve never done this before so we have no idea what we’re doing.”
And every single time, I smile. Not because I think it’s silly, but because I truly understand. It’s vulnerable to be in front of a camera. And it’s even more vulnerable to be in front of a camera while showing love, laughter, and connection. That takes courage.
Blue Sky Vineyard – Makanda, IL
Blue Sky is simply breathtaking. The stonework, the soft hills, the rows of grapevines — it’s like stepping into a little European dream right here in our backyard. It’s peaceful, romantic, and the golden light out there is just something special. I always love shooting here, especially for couples who want something elegant but still warm and relaxed.
I’m not the kind of photographer who just shows up, clicks a few pretty photos, and leaves. For me, photography is about connection. It’s about seeing people for who they really are and capturing the moments that matter most, the ones that happen in between the poses.
Hug, Kiss or even just talk! Show that you are connected somehow. But don’t awkwardly stand next to someone. It’s weird. Don’t be weird…
My goal is to tell a story with every image. I am so excited because I am already so inspired with ideas…
Here is everything you need to do to prepare for your portrait sessions! Here are all the things you need so you can have an amazing session every time!
Use your hands to create shape in your body. You don’t want your hands to be straight at your side. This can cause you to look wider. Instead you want to create curves and shapes with your hands, and legs. Look at the picture below, notice the slight curve in the arm where the arrow is pointing. This curve helps create a shape. And then look at this leg. He has one leg behind the other and so his body is almost creating some curves.
Professional camera’s usually start off at about $500 dollars. However, if you are interested in photography, I always recommend starting with what you have and working your way up. Having an expensive camera does not mean you are going to have professional level pictures, so practice…
