You Are Safe Here
Why being an LGBTQ+ affirming photographer matters deeply to me
Every person deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and safe. That is not just something I believe. It is something I build my entire photography approach around.
Whether you are planning a wedding, celebrating an engagement, starting a family, or simply honoring your love in whatever form it takes, you deserve to work with someone who honors your story just as it is. You deserve to be photographed with kindness, respect, and joy.
That is what I promise every client I work with. And that promise includes every identity, every orientation, and every beautiful way that love shows up in this world.
This matters because visibility matters
For so long, LGBTQ+ love stories were left out of the picture. There weren’t examples to look to, vendors to turn to, or spaces where people could show up fully as themselves. I want to help change that.
I want to offer more than tolerance. I want to offer celebration. I want couples and families to see their love reflected in my work and to know they are not just accepted, they are welcome.
Love is love, and it all deserves to be documented
The way your partner looks at you. The way you laugh together. The softness, the silliness, the sacred in-between moments. That is the heart of what I capture, and it has nothing to do with labels. It has everything to do with connection, trust, and truth.
I honor pronouns, identities, and chosen families
Language matters. Names matter. Stories matter. When you work with me, you do not have to worry about explaining or defending your identity. You do not have to ask if it is okay. It already is.
I will ask your pronouns. I will use inclusive language. I will respect your story and the people you hold close. If there is anything that would make your experience more comfortable, I am always open to listening and learning.
Southern Illinois is home, and I want it to feel like home for everyone
I know that affirming vendors can still be hard to find in some areas. That is why I want to be clear. My lens is open to everyone. And my hope is that my sessions feel like a safe, joyful space to just be who you are, no explanations needed.
A note from the heart
Photography is about more than images. It is about trust. And I do not take that lightly. If you have been looking for someone who will honor your story, celebrate your love, and meet you with kindness and care, I would be truly honored to work with you.
You belong here. Your story belongs here. And I would love to help tell it.
